Question 12

What are the rules of the Schools Challenge Trophy?

Accepted Answer

The school winners are determined by a low-score system—the school with the lowest total score wins.

A runner's finishing place equals the number of points they earn. For example, 1st place earns 1 point, 10th place earns 10 points, and 30th place earns 30 points.

If we have enough schools that enter six runners we will use the top six runners in each school to calculate the results

If we only have one school that entered six runners we will look at how many schools entered five runners and calculate the results based on the top five runners in each school... and so on ... down to a limit of four as a minimum for a team.

We only calculate the results from runners who have entered their school during the registration process. If we don't know the school, that runner won't be used in the calculations.
