Celebrate Slinfold’s legendary runner Alf Shrubb by taking part in the Alf Shrubb Memorial Races in September 2027 (date TBC). Run a 10k or 5k trail race, bring the family for the children’s races, and help support local community causes.

A well organised, friendly event
Cakes: many leftover and looked very good. To get one I'd have had to wait in the very slow tea/coffee queue to buy a voucher and then go to the cake table. I didn't bother. Needs a better system of paying.

It was a really well organised event. The atmosphere was lovely and friendly.
The route was really nice, and it’s added a challenge too. I loved the children got an opportunity to run too and win a medal.

Well organised trail run with great scenery and happy atmosphere
My first time at Alf Shrubb and decided to do the 10k. Lovely scenery with a few hills to climb and cows and sheep to look at in nearby fields. The option to do 5k would be well worth considering as well. Despite rain in recent days it wasn’t muddy at all and we were lucky with the weather. Very well marshalled and signposted. Other points were: easy car parking in a nice flat field close by; bib pickup was good on site and plenty of food to look forward to after.

Big thrill for a small event
A very well organised event that is small and friendly. Great atmosphere and lots to support for the runners suitable for all ages from kids to adults. A good variety of food and drink is available. It's a decent trail with 5k and 10k options. Organisers and volunteers were superb.

Due to the narrow paths, could you not have different wave times so not all bundled together at the same time? Overall a very well organised event.

great armosphere
More slick than last year. Some silly people bent over their numbers so the marshal could not see the colour of their number so they missed the turn off. Their fault not the marshal.

Marshalling was friendly, informative and enthusiastic.

Friendly local race. Not a PB race due to narrow course in places and terrain. Apart from the crowded start the race was along an interesting undulating route. Plenty of parking and all the Marshalls were very friendly.
Feel the start could have been better which was very crowded. Recommend splitting the 5k and 10k pack.

3rd Year - A Great Event
Overall a cracking well organised trail running race event that goes on to support our local communities.
Couple of points from this year (13.09.2026):
1) More toilets needed and/or male urinal facility
2) Nice additional touch for this year was to have someone manage and secure the bag drop-off tent
